If any of you have access to Volume 2 of the PCD_WIN video. Watch it. You will notice that she does not try to line up the first and last stitch point of an outline precisely. She lets the lines from the first stitch point and last stitch point cross. Those lines close the area. You will have two stitches outside the outline after it is filled. They can be moved or deleted. I usually move them unless I plan to delete the outline for some reason. Sometimes in order to get the lines to cross, I will begin my outline about 1/4 inch out from the outline and the second one on the outline, then when I come around to the last stitch it is easy to make the lines cross each other. It makes B Fill as easy as you wish it was. I haven't seen that video, but this method really works well for me. Here it is in some different words.] Sometimes it is easier to be sure that an area is closed (at the start and end stitches) by "crossing the threads" close to those stitches. Cross the threads by taking the first (or last) stitch of the outline and moving it so that the lines connecting the first and last stitches to the outline cross. This assures that the outline is closed and doesn't require you to be so very very exact in placing that stitch. You may not even have to use the zoom function. After you do a fill, you can move the stitch back if you like. I often find that the problem is from other stitches poking into the outline, either inside the shape I want to fill or sitting right on top of the outline. Make sure the area and the outline are free of stitches from elsewhere. Even if you are going at an angle that seems that crossing the lines won't work, think about it like; I can start out 1/4 inch at a right angle and the next on the line and proceed on around to the first and just cross the lines behind stitch 2. The first and last stitch have to line up precisely otherwise and have no stitches extending inside the area. Try thinking about it in terms of making the lines cross where first and last stitch come together. Do the B fill - then either move the two stitch points that are outside the fill area up in line or delete. That may take some frustration away. Ilene Black wblack@worldaccess.com ------------------
