They have cardboard sides or are sideless and you throw away the bobbin after the thread is used. The bobbins I ordered cost $17.95 per gross (144), have 94 yards of thread in each bobbin and come in white or pink or blue. Black thread is $18.95 per gross. You can purchase the L bobbins from a company called Daines in Utah - 1-800-678-6401. Hope this helps. meyercord1@aol.com Susan in Michigan ---------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: PFAFF:Madeºira Cotton Bobbin Thread Date: Sun, 16 Mar 97 11:31:28 +0000 From: Catherine Paulson Reply-To: pfaffies@listserv.embroideryclubs.com To: pfaffies@listserv.embroideryclubs.com Mary, it's listed as Burmifil 140 Cotton - 10,936 yds - $8.40. (I'm not sure, but think that would mean 140 wt.) I don't think you can beat that price. Of course, there will be shipping added, but I try to order several things at a time. Any one have a solution to this???? > > sharon@ionet.net *************************** Sharon - I too had endless problems with bobbin thread breakage until I learned the secret ...... And I'm not going to tell you .......... Just kidding :) It was a revelation for me - the thread must unwind CLOCKWISE in the bobbin - tug on the thread and see which way it unwinds. Reverse the plastic bobbin if it unwinds COUNTER CLOCKWISE. (More quality reading from the manual here!) I hope this is a real simple answer to your bobbin thread breakage - it eliminated it for me! I was using Sew Bob at first with the 7570, as I always had for machine embroidery of any kind, and some designs the bobbin thread would pull to the top, no matter how low the tension. My dealers said our machines sew so fast the synthetic threads can stretch and then they'll pull to the topl and use cotton. I always have used cotton since, and the problem went away. (I use Tanne heirloom thread, size 80, from Clotilde's catalog, you get miles on with an 80 wt, and in a year and a half, even that thin a weight has only broken a time or two on me.) - -- Mary Wacker wacker@gte.net 7570, 1475, PCD 2.0a Western Washington ------------------------------ZNDSETÇ.Hò¥ÝàÀ¿˜ò6*À¿˜DSETÞ.H!tanò¥¥˜ààò6*À¿˜FNTMCUTSDSUMmilnerHDNISTYL½ @STYLò&tò&¿ò¥¨ò¾¯ò¾¸ò¥¸ò©”ò¶dx p m X HASHå $Ž·¥Þ“& & & & h& L:ÝQh¼‹Žj‚×az´·o}Bod CHARò¾Ï ™ Î"þ š Ä :HASHÑ R CELLò¾• "HASH ^ GRPHò¶` "HASHûl RULRò¶$›@`4HASHb@›, LKUP $NAMEDefault Default SSHeaderBodyFooterFootnoteFootnote IndexòDFNTM HelveticaGenevaETBL@FNTMNCUTSVDSUM^HDNIÖSTYLèETBL#iœ›¸š™˜¯•ÒÚÛÙž–—DDf ^ G Thread-bobbinCWWPBOBOCWWPBOBOØlPÀ#±"HASHûl RULRò¶$Subject: Re: PFAFF: LBobbins Date: Mon, 31 Mar 97 18:52:22 +0000 From: Meyercord1@aol.com Reply-To: pfaffies@listserv.embroideryclubs.com To: pfaffies@listserv.embroideryclubs.com Lea in OK, The L Bobbins have been mentioned several times over the past milner"Øl\ÃTEXTËØl\ÃAuthTEXTÍ ClarisWorksDDfò)D¨fTEXTpnot2STR >ËñL$ÍñL,øÙ4ò¡¨
