pfaffies-digest Saturday, 29 March 1997 Volume 01 : Number 1226 From: "Marian Suggs" Date: Fri, 28 Mar 1997 23:31:32 -0800 Subject: Re: PFAFF: Tie Offs Tie-offs don't occur magically. When you are setting the stitches for your design, be sure that you set three or four stitches right on top of each other** at the beginning and end of each color change. You also need to do this before and after "jumps" to disconnected areas of the same color (unless you are using running stitches that will be covered later in the sewing). If you are building your design in one-color sections for later assembly, be sure each section starts and ends with those three or four tie off stitches at the beginning and end. Since I tend to get caught up in watching the design come to life, I try to check my design for tie offs by hitting HOME and then using the right arrow key to be sure that I have set those stitches at the appropriate place. FINAL check -- SEW OUT A SAMPLE! You will know if you need more tie off stitches. Have a pencil and paper handy and note down anything that needs a fix before you call your design completed. Then go back to the computer and put in the stitches that make your efforts perfect. Hope this helps..... Marian in Arcadia CA mailto:erimar@loop.com
